Ways to Boost Immune System During Pandemic
Maintaining and boosting immunity during the pandemic is very important, so we can avoid the COVID-19 virus. Here are some tips on what you can do to boost your immune system.
1. Manage Your Stress Well
Stress can reduce and weaken the immune system. Therefore, you must be able to manage stress well. The ongoing pandemic surely makes many people stress and fear too much. Therefore, the World’s Health Organization (WHO) recommends people to read accurate information related COVID-19, which is published on the government’s website (covid19.go.id) or WHO’s website. Moreover, you also have to do what makes you happy more often, like doing your hobbies. And if your stress level is getting worse, it will be better if you take some rest and calm yourself.
2. Take Some Rest and Sleep Well
A tired body will easily get sick. Therefore, it is better if you have enough rest and sleep time everyday. In the middle of a busy day, we often miss taking rest, even though having enough rest can increase the immune system. According to the National Sleep Foundation, an adult needs approximately 7-9 hours of sleep per day.
3. Have a Healthy Lifestyle by Doing Exercises
Doing exercise can make our body healthier, which can also increase our immune system. Even though we are now still encouraged to do activities from home, it does not mean that you can not do some exercises. In fact, there are many exercises that you can do at your own home. We recommend you to exercise regularly everyday, or at least once every two days.
4. Consume Health and Nutritional Food
Food becomes important to be considered especially during the ongoing pandemic. By consuming balanced nutrition, our body’s immune system can also increase. We also recommend you to avoid buying not clean or unhealthy food. Moreover, you have to always consume fruit, vegetable, vitamin and supplement everyday, as well as drink 8 glasses or 2 liters of mineral water per day.
5. Sunbathing Frequently
Sunlight turns out to have many benefits for the human body. One of which is to help increase the production of Vitamin D in the body, which is very useful for increasing body immunity naturally. Therefore, it is good if you sunbathe between 9 – 10 AM in the morning, and you just need about 15 – 30 minutes every day.
